Executive Team
 | Chief Executive Tim Sewell (BA,FCIH)
Appointed as Chief Executive of Family Birmingham in March 2001, Tim has over thirty years experience in social housing, beginning at Cambridge City Council then moving to Hanover Housing Association where he was promoted to Regional Housing Manager. He subsequently joined Wherry Housing Association, one of the first large scale voluntary transfer organisations in the country as Housing Director. Wherry’s creation of the Anglia Group structure led to him becoming Director of Wherry and then Group Corporate Services Director. Tim is currently on the Birmingham Social Housing Partnership Executive and the Board of the City Housing Partnership.

 | Deputy Chief Executive Carmel McCarthy (BA (Hons) MSc MCIH)
Appointed February 2007, Carmel has over 15 years experience in social housing. Carmel has a wealth of social care experience as she was previously Head of Housing Services with the Heart of England Housing Group, based in Stratford-upon-Avon. Prior to that Carmel has held positions of Area Director - Central England Business Unit with English Churches Housing Group and Head of Community Services & Supported Housing with the Somer Housing Group in Bath.

 | Director Finance & Business Development Rob Ellis (ACEA, IFA, ACIH) Appointed in November 1989, Rob initially trained with a medium-sized accountancy practice before moving to a large multi-national practice. He subsequently worked in financial analysis at Jaguar Cars PLC and Head of Finance at Spiral Housing Association. |
Senior Management Team
 | Assistant Director Homes & Neighbourhoods Gail Newbold (MCIH) Appointed April 2008, Gail has been working in social housing for over 20 years and was previously Head of Housing at South Warwickshire Housing Association, based in Stratford-upon-Avon. As Assistant Director Homes & Neighbourhoods, Gail is responsible for the management and development of our income service, neighbourhood management, supported housing, estate services and repairs and maintenance. |

 | Assistant Director People & Performance Jackie Molloy (FCIPD, MA)
Appointed October 2011, Jackie has 7 years’ experience in social housing having previously worked as a Head of People and Performance at Bromsgrove District Housing Trust. Prior to moving into social housing Jackie was Human Resources Manager for PPDG in Birmingham working within the communities that Family serve. Jackie is responsible for the effective delivery of central support services to include human resources, customer relations, ICT and business improvement and intelligence.

 | Assistant Director Finance Richard Wilson (BSc (Econ))
Appointed September 2011, Richard began his career in the NHS before working for a number of local authorities – Daventry District Council, District of the Wrekin Council and Stroud District Council – between 1984 and 2007. He joined the Local Better Regulation Office in 2007 at its inception as a non-departmental public body (“quango”) as Director of Resources. Richard is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) and holds a BSc (Econ) in Accountancy and Economics from Cardiff University.

 | Head of Community Investment Adam Carey (BSocSc.MIED) Adam was appointed July 2011 to cover Claire Hardwick's maternity leave and is responsible for Family's community investment and resident involvement teams. This includes all our eco projects and employment and training programmes. Adam was formerly Director of Strategy and Community Engagement at Urban Living, the Birmingham / Sandwell Housing Market Renewal Pathfinder. |
