The South Lozells Eco Scheme was delivered by Family Housing Association in 2009/10. It was funded by the Birmingham/Sandwell Housing Market Renewal Pathfinder Urban Living. Working in partnership with local organisations, we delivered the following outcomes for local residents:

·  36 low income owner-occupier homes in the area fitted with solar panel hot water systems and energy efficient boilers.

·  Over 80 households in the area received a visit from our ‘Green Doctor’ home energy advisor helping cut household fuel bills and give ‘green’ lifestyle advice.

·  1,500 South Lozells households received ‘green’ information packs containing useful information on recycling, reducing energy usage, cutting household bills, water conservation and other eco issues.

·  5 unemployed local residents completed 3 month paid work placements with the eco contractors and Family, achieving their NOCN accredited Level 1 and in some cases Level 2 qualifications.

·  We worked with First Class Youth / E:ngage helping 26 local young people (aged 12-18) to deliver the hugely successful Eco Factor talent contest.
