Connect news autumn 2011

Welcome to the Autumn edition of our ezine.

No-one can deny that the past few months have seen some serious ups and downs in terms of public mood. We were all shaken by the riots and economic downturn and cheered by the extraordinarily balmy autumn weather. Hopefully what no-one can deny, however, is the good work that affordable housing providers are doing to protect our current and future tenants. In this ezine we let you into some of the behind the scenes activities that we have been doing recently to improve things for our residents.

Customer Roadshow

Working closely with our residents is key to how we operate at Family and over the summer months we picked up on the Government’s localism theme with a resident road show.

The road show involved holding three separate events in north, south and central Birmingham with the aim of reaching a greater number of customers. This approach proved to be more successful than in previous years where we’ve put all our resources into one main event and we were extremely pleased to see an increase to the number of residents wanting to get involved with Family through our Customer 1st resident involvement scheme.

Our Customer 1st programme provides a range of opportunities for residents to make a real difference to service delivery and thanks to this we were selected earlier this year as one of the Tenant Services Authority’s top 10 co-regulation champions.
