Sizzling street party celebrates regeneration success

  Date   03 May 06

Family Housing Association (Birmingham) Ltd led the project with funding from the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund and delivered the works in partnership with Birmingham City Council, JMP Partnership, BM3 Architects, local contractors, Fire Escapes Unlimited, as well as Chase Midland Plc’s affordable housing division, Chase Partnership Homes.

Local residents were invited to join in the celebrations after working closely with the architects, Council and Family Housing staff in the planning and delivery of the improvements. Those attending the party were treated to an assortment of Asian and Italian cuisine and enjoyed the official opening ceremony by Councillor Kath Hartley and Family Housing’s Chief Executive, Tim Sewell.

Tim Sewell, said ‘This project is a great example of how Housing Associations can work with local communities to help improve their neighbourhood. Local residents have been involved in designing this project from the outset and as a result, are very satisfied with both the design, the materials and quality of workmanship.  Family Housing Association is committed to regenerating some of the most deprived areas in Birmingham and we hope to continue our success in other parts of the city and further afield.’

Paul Loader, Director, Chase Partnership Homes adds ‘Chase Partnership Homes has enjoyed working with the Family Housing Association on this very rewarding project. Not only have the new works revitalised this area of Birmingham, they provide the residents with a new safe environment that they can take pride in.’
