Stephen Dunne set to run marathon and raise money for national housing charity.

  Date   22 March 2006

Stephen Dunne from Family Housing Association (Birmingham) Ltd is currently training hard for the London marathon on Sunday 23rd April which he has entered to represent hact (the Housing Associations’ Charitable Trust) and Family Housing Association, Birmingham. Stephen has nominated Cancer Research UK as his secondary charity as he is working as a Housing Co-ordinator in the Nechells Ward of Birmingham which experiences the worst health issues in the City.

Stephen said ‘I was inspired to run the London marathon after losing a substantial amount of weight last year and joining the Stourbridge running club where I train twice a week. I’m now really looking forward to putting my training into practice. I decided to raise money for Hact as I have worked in social housing for 10 years and this money will help support them to achieve better housing solutions for those in need.  I really hope to get as many sponsors as I can in order to raise some money for Cancer Research as well. Both charities rely on donations to continue their work and make a lasting difference to so many lives.’

Family Housing Association (Birmingham) is currently working in partnership with hact delivering one of five national Accommodate projects to provide support and assistance to refugees.  Family are supporting Stephen in assisting him to raise as much money in sponsorship as possible.

Seven athletic hact supporters will run the Flora London Marathon on 23 April!

You can sponsor them by visiting their website at www.hact.org.uk. Thank you!
