Building work is about to complete at our 24-home development in Smethwick, and residents are moving in.

Bearwood Road is a mix of three and four-bedroom homes and two-bedroom apartments, which are available for rent, shared-ownership and intermediate rent.

We have worked closely with Sandwell Council to deliver this project.  The £3million scheme was made possible by funding from the Homes and Communities Agency {www.homesandcommunities.co.uk} which came to us via Lovell Plus Ltd.  The project also received £250,000 of funding from housing market renewal pathfinder Urban Living.  The development is being built by Lovell Homes {www.lovell.co.uk}.

Rob Ellis, director of resources, at Family, said: “This is our first development completion for 2012 and it is pleasing that it is both on time and on budget.  But most importantly, from the feedback that we’ve had from the residents that have already moved in, we know that we’ve helped to fulfil a local housing need.

"Residents are happy with the size of the homes, in particular the spacious kitchens.  They are also pleased with the eco features, such as the rainwater harvesting equipment, which will save them money.”
