Family welcomes new board members

  Date   March 2011

Three new board members have joined Family, bringing a wealth of experience in finance and business development to benefit the organisation.

Business development accountant for Trent & Dove Housing Sangita Surridge is a Birmingham resident and has joined Family to benefit her local community as well as putting her business and professional skills to good use.

Sangita Surridge

“I have considerable experience of business planning for a social housing provider. I am aware of the issues and challenges that organisations like Family face and I will be able to use my experience to offer ideas and solutions.

“I am looking forward to helping Family Housing address the ever increasing need for social housing and associated services,” said Sangita.

Also joining us is John Williams, who currently works at Connells Group as part-time corporate development director and he is also a governor at Light Hall School, in Shirley, Solihull.

John Williams

John wants to increase his knowledge of the housing sector. He explained: “I want to get a better understanding of the sector and improve my knowledge of partner relationships between suppliers, customers and care services to improve the availability and accessibility and quality of housing.

“I have been involved in financial services for 40 years, much of it property related at board level. I am hoping that this experience and partnership work I have done with suppliers will help Family’s continued development.”

Director of Traderisks, a corporate finance company specialising in the essential services sector, Paul Rickard, is looking forward to joining the board as our third new member and contributing positively to the housing sector.

Paul Rickard

Paul said: “I am most looking forward to being able to contribute my financial skills as a member of the Finance and Development Committee. Financial viability is a critical component of all organisations in the current climate.

“I hope to be able to help Family Housing maximise its financial strength and minimise funding costs through efficient execution and monitoring. This will help ensure we are an efficient and successful organisation and allow us to maximise the benefits that we provide to our tenants, offering them security, opportunities, and services that we can be proud of.”
