As well as providing high quality affordable housing, Family is committed to investing in creating sustainable communities that enable all the residents who live there to thrive. Community Investment is a key part of what makes Family special.

By working with the whole community, rather than focussing solely on our tenants and residents, we can help to ‘lift’ the whole area. We are striving to improve well-being and develop ‘social capital’ – the health, wealth and happiness of local residents.

This approach significantly improves the quality of life for all residents living there, including Family tenants and residents, and encourages the development of a cohesive community where people want to live.

Our Community Investment activity focuses on delivering activities around a number of key themes:

·        Providing high quality Training & Employment opportunities

·        Supporting refugees and ‘newly arrived’ residents

·        Tackling fuel poverty and the impact of climate change, ie ‘Eco projects’

·        Improving health and family support provision

Our regeneration projects and staff are externally funded.
