On 1st December 2008, a new regulator for affordable housing called the Tenant Services Authority (TSA) was launched. This replaces the Housing Corporation and their goal is to raise the standard of services for tenants.
The TSA has just spent three months touring the country to meet tenants and find out what services they need and the standards they expect. This was called their ‘National Conversation’ and five of our tenants attended the event when they came to Birmingham on 4th February.
Family and several other housing associations in the West Midlands, also organised a ‘Local Conversation’ at Pheonix Hall, Bordesley, on Wednesday 4th March. A number of our tenants attended this event and shared their views with the TSA.
The TSA will now use the feedback they have received from all their events to set the standards for social housing across the country and ensure that the regulations which are put in place put tenants’ priorities first.
